Faye Anne Dorfman (Fischer) passed away Wednesday, May 25, at Hooverwood Home, Indianapolis, after a lengthy illness. Her husband, Jack Maurice Dorfman, predeceased her in 1999.
Faye grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. Her parents Max and Rose Fischer and her sisters Bernice and Marian also predeceased her. She was cousin to the late Annette Thon, Indianapolis.
Faye moved to Indianapolis as a young bride. She met her former husband, Jack, on a double date. They immediately fell in love and were married in Louisville in June, 1948. Faye was active in many organizations such as B'nai Torah Sisterhood and Hadassah. She lovingly took an active role in the lives of her grandchildren. She enjoyed animals, movies, shopping, and spending time with friends and family.
Faye and Jack had two daughters, Laura (Dorfman) Leve, Ft. Myers, Florida and Marlene Dorfman, Indianapolis. In addition, she is survived by 5 grandchildren: Samantha Rose Kuznacic (Brenten Kuznacic), Madison, Wisconsin; Ashley Michelle Hanson, Indianapolis; Martin Bruner, Bloomington; Melinda Kate Blake (Joe Blake), Indianapolis; and Courtney Tuchman, Indianapolis. Faye is survived by her cousins, Sandra Mae and Earl Goldsmith from Louisville and 4 nieces: Gerri Sue Needle, Irvine, California; Carol Needle Harmon (Bill Harmon), Kilauea, HI; Eileen Weiner, Hollywood, CA; and Ethel and Dan Chadwick, Scottsville, New York.
Services will be held this coming Friday, May 27, 2016 at 2 pm, with visitation from 1-2 pm at A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services. 11411 North Michigan Road, Zionsville, IN 46077.
Contributions will be lovingly accepted at Indianapolis Animal Care and Control and the Juvenile Diabetes Association; were very near to her heart.
