87, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015. Fran led a very active life and was deeply loved by many friends and family. A graduate of Southport High School, she attended Butler University and met her husband, Bob, while working at Jack C. Carr Realty. They were married from 1952 until his death in 1995. She raised seven children to lead varied and interesting lives and welcomed their spouses as her own children.
In later years, Fran was a dedicated employee of L.S. Ayres, and she volunteered at Conner Prairie for over 20 years. Her extraordinary lifetime commitment to blood donation led to the proclamation of "Frances A. Goode Day" in the city of Indianapolis. Fran sang in the funeral choir at St. Pius X Catholic Parish.
She was preceded in death by husband Bob Goode, daughter Kristen White and grandson Ian Frost. Survivors include brother, Hank Denk; sisters, Margaret Thecla O'Donnell and Marguerite Jorishie; children, Michal Goode (Tom Carmichael), Andrea Frost (Malcolm), Joe Goode (Jodi), Abbe Gray (Dodd), David Goode (Lisa), Josh Goode (Heather); and son-in-law, Jack White. She is also survived by grandchildren, Colin Frost, Gavin Frost, Bob Goode, Dodd Gray, Matt Goode, Kaitlin Pegg, Erin Goode, Ursula Carmichael, Rosie Gray, Katie Bishop and Callie Gerhardt; and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 9 from 4 - 7 PM at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, and a funeral mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Parish on Tuesday, February 10 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to St. Augustine Home (https://littlesistersofthepoorindianapolis.weshareonline.org/), or gifts of blood may be donated at your local blood donor center.
