Franklin N. DeWester

Retired Elder Law attorney, died peacefully on November 27, 2022 in Zionsville at the age of 76.

Born on April 29, 1946 in Wood River, IL to Beulah and Lloyd DeWester Sr., Frank attended Roxana High School until his sophomore year when his family moved to Indianapolis.  After graduating from Lawrence Central High School, Frank earned a BA from Indiana University, joined the Army National Guard and spent 11 years with the Indianapolis Police Department.  He went on to study Law at IUPUI, and received his JD in 1983.

Frank worked for several law firms until eventually opening his own practice specializing in Elder Law.  He retired in 2017 and realized his dream of living on a lake in his beloved Brown County.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Danielle Diamond (Nick) and Samantha DeWester; five grandchildren, Max, Ben, Kate, Lauren and Benny; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Robert, Lloyd, Gerald and Diana.

There will be a gathering of friends and family to memorialize Frank in April 2023.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Brown County Humane Society .
