Gary W. Fisher

Gary Walter Fisher died on September 11, 2024 at the age of 86. Gary was born on May 8, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

 Gary attended Shortridge High School and then went on to study Philosophy at Indiana University, (BA) and University of Iowa, (MA, PhD).  An avid, insatiable reader, Gary’s happiest times were spent reading classical literature, as well as listening to music. Gary was and will remain a “special” character, bright beyond words and will be remembered and missed by all those who had the opportunity to just share the experience of his personality and “good heart."

There was no greater joy or blessing in his life than his loving son, Joseph. 

 He is survived by his former wife, Rose (Posey) and his son, Joseph. He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Johanna Fisher and his sister Barbara (Stanley) Nickbarg.

Private graveside services were held at Congregation Beth-El Zedeck South Cemetery in Indianapolis.
