Gene "Carole" (Barrick) Clements

Gene “Carole” Clements died peacefully on February 21, 2020 at the age of 86.

Carole was born on April 28, 1933 in Illinois and grew up in Hoopeston Illinois.  She graduated from nursing school in 1955 and began her career as an RN.  Carole had a passion for nursing and worked in the field for more than 40 years.  Most of her career was spent in the cardiovascular unit at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Carole married Jac in 1954 and his job as a construction manager building Interstate 65 brought them to central Indiana.

In addition to her devotion to nursing, Carole had a passion for gardening.  She spent countless hours each year transforming her backyard into a park like setting.  Most of all Carole loved her family, inspiring her sons to work hard, be honest and maintain strong morals.  She will be dearly missed.

Carole is survived by her sons, Scott (Michele) Clements of Orlando, Neal (Libby) Clements of Zionsville and David (Beth) Clements of Noblesville; and her grandchildren, Austin, Lauren, Rex, Cole and Jordan.  Carole is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Mead; and brother, Ken Barrick.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Jac Clements; and her mother, Loretta Bell.

A private family memorial will be held in her home town of Hoopeston, Illinois.
