George Foster Lewis, aged 71, of Indianapolis, died at St. Vincent Hospital on December 29, 2022 following a brief illness.
George was a well-known hairdresser on the north side of Indianapolis, who not only made people look beautiful, but he also became an important part of their lives. Throughout his life he financially contributed to many charitable causes, however, just as importantly George gave of his time. Most notably, George was a volunteer at St. Vincent Hospice.
He is survived by his siblings: Veronica Stohler, Allen (Linda) Lewis and Dr. Rose (Don) Mullen, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of lifelong friends. George was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Martha Lewis and nephew, Seth Stohler.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 7, from 3-5:00 PM at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Funeral Home, 11411 N. Michigan Road, Zionsville, IN 46077. Friends will be encouraged to share memories and stories of George.
