George Robert Owens
Devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away on August 16, 2018 at the age of 73.

George was born in Elizabethtown, KY on November 15, 1944 to George Weaver and Myra Eleanor Owens. He was a graduate of Purdue University and proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star.

George was a member of Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation and was a Mason. He was an avid hunter and coached the 3rd Armored Division Rifle and Pistol Team. His many hobbies included archery, reading and sailing.

George co-owned and operated JGJ Trucking until his retirement.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Faye Tauber Owens; son, Aaron Raymond Owens; granddaughter, Anna Lynn Owens; sister, Katherine Hayes and brother-in-law, Simeon Ellis Tauber.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 1 PM in Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation Cemetery South, 200 West Kelly Street, Indianapolis, IN.
