Geraldine Rose Garner Peters departed this life in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 27, 2023. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 21, 1932, and preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Arvin Peters.
Gerry, as she was known by those who loved her, was a mother to Garry Peters, Gay Christy, and Debbie Huffine. She was mother-in-law to Pat Peters, Brian Christy, and Eric Huffine; grandmother to Eric Peters, Blake Peters, Joel Peters, Chase Christy, Nicole Kitts, Taylor Christy, Natalie Moorehouse, and Alexander Huffine; grandma-in-law to Priscilla Peters, Natalie Christy, Khine Peters, Emily Peters, Kraig Kitts, Matthew Moorehouse, Alainie Christy, and soon-to-be Lyndsay Valadez; great Grandmother to Simon Peters, Walker Peters, Eden Peters, Gwen Peters, Parker Peters, Hazel Peters, Quinn Peters, Boston Christy, Miles Christy, Wren Kitts, Koen Kitts.
Gerry dedicated her life to loving her family, serving others, and making people smile. She cared deeply for people and always sought a way to encourage others and put them first. She will always be remembered for the explosion of joy on her face when any family member came to visit and for her heartfelt response of, “I Loooove You Too!”
In addition to being a mother– her most important job– she was a Sunday School Teacher, VBS worker, Pioneer Girls Leader, Professional Clown, Assistant Librarian, EMT, Camp Counselor, Camp Nurse, Oasis Volunteer, Day Care Worker, and volunteer for numerous endeavors. She loved kids and was always willing to lend a hand.
Funeral services were held privately at Zionsville Cemetery.
