Gordon K. Wanser
78, of Whitestown, IN, formerly a long time resident of Otisville, NY, died on June 21, 2014. He was a past fire chief and later an honorary volunteer with the Otisville Fire Company for over 50 years.
During Gordon's early years, he served in the United States Army, and he was a member of the Otisville Fire Company's softball and bowling teams.
Later, he spent much of his time playing with his grandkids, watching racing, playing cards, doing puzzles, and socializing with his wonderful neighbors and friends and was a member of the Boone County Senior Center.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor Wanser, son, Barry Wanser and his wife, Laurie Wanser (Zionsville, IN), son, Gordon Wanser and his fiance, Jenn Guittare (Aston, PA), grandchildren, Robert, Riley and Mason Wanser, brothers, Donald Wanser (Otisville, NY) and Paul Wanser (Syracuse, NY), and many nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by one son, Kenneth Wanser (2008), one grandson, Michael Wanser (2011), and his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
Gordon's calling will be on Wednesday, June 25, from 10:30-12:30 PM at Aaron-Reuben-Nelson Mortuary, 11411 N. Michigan Rd, Zionsville, IN, 46077. Burial is immediately following at Zionsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Tribute Program, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN, 38148-0142 or www.stjude.org/tribute.
