Grace Jane Ball

Grace Jane Ball, a beloved mother and pastor’s wife,passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, at the age of 97. She was born on July 11, 1927, in Paterson, New Jersey to Jonathon and Estella Gray.  While attending Anderson College she met her husband Glen and they were married on August 6, 1948. Jane dedicated her life to both her family and the support of her husband’s ministry. She was very active in the church, teaching Sunday school class, singing in the choir, playing instruments and directing countless church programs. She loved people and loved to entertain people in her home. One guest referred to her as “the hostess with the mostest”. As a teacher working in the Dayton Christian School, she inspired countless students to grow strong in their walk with the Lord as well as their academic life.

Jane earned a Master's degree from Clarion University in Pennsylvania, showcasing her commitment to education and lifelong learning. Her passion for teaching and nurturing young minds was evident in her years of service.

Jane was a devoted mother  to her son, Steve (Karen) Ball and daughter, Glenda (Alan) Reber. She took great pride in her role as a grandmother to Jonathan (Lindsay) Ball, David (Lauren) Ball, and Aaron (Carrie) Reber, and was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Alexandra Grace Ball, Theodore Jacob Ball, and Mackenzie Annette Ball, who brought her immense joy and love.

Jane is predeceased by her parents, Jonathan and Estella Gray; husband, Glen Aldean Ball; and her son, Bradford Kemp Ball. Her legacy lives on through the generations of family she cherished and the many lives she touched during her years as an pastor’s wife and educator.

Inurnment will be at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Miamisburg, Ohio at a later date. As we celebrate the remarkable life of Grace Jane Ball, we remember her strength, wisdom, and unwavering love for her family and students. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who were fortunate to know her.
