After a short illness, Grace peacefully passed on the afternoon of April 25, 2022. She was at home surrounded by soft lights, peaceful jazz music, scented candles, her daughter and their two cats. She joins the love of her life, Lawrence Silverman.
Grace was born in Canton, Missouri on February 8, 1937 to the late Noble and Ruth Ann Norman. Grace earned her Master’s degree and spent her career as a Professor of Fine Arts in Virginia and Colorado. She found pleasure in the small things - a tree, a Robin hopping in grass, the first Daffodil of Spring. She expressed her artistic talents through photography, printmaking, acrylic and watercolor paintings.
Grace survived the deaths of two children, Susie and Robert, both who died from Huntington's Chorea after long illnesses. She leaves behind her remaining daughter, Sheree and her two precious grandchildren, Lizzie and Sara.
She was Sheree's best friend and will be missed more than words can say. All who knew her will miss her sweet, gentle spirit. She was loved.
We celebrate her life as she lived it - full of joy.
Services will be held at a later date.
