Gretchen Eagle

July 29, 1936 — October 11, 2016

Gretchen Eagle, 80, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on October 11, 2016. She was born in Corbin, KY and is the daughter of the late Paul Boone and Sue Sweeney.

Gretchen is survived by her beloved husband, Clifford Eagle; children, Lesa (Kevin) Yoas of Fishers, Lydia (John) Wright of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Kevin Eagle of Indianapolis, and Lorna (Gene) Judd of Zionsville; brother, E. Winton (Glenda) Boone, aunt Genevieve Wesley and sister-in-law Judy Boone; grandchildren Grant Eagle, Kristin Yoas, David Wilson, Jessica Wilson, Jessica Judd, and Dalton Judd; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gretchen was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Boone and her grandson, Kyle Yoas, who passed away on October 9, 2016.

Gretchen attended the University of Kentucky and was a devoted UK basketball fan. She loved sports, and played softball and golf for many years. She was an avid reader and had a passion for gardening. Gretchen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Gretchen and Clifford celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July 2016. She was a kind and Godly woman and was a long-time member of Orchard Park Presbyterian Church.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 1605 East 106th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46280, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church in Gretchen's memory.
