Hardeep Singh Birdi, a beloved figure known for his dedication and hard work, passed away on October 7, 2024, in Brazil, Indiana, just one day shy of his 74th birthday. He was born on October 8, 1950, in Gorakhpur, India, where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by perseverance and commitment to his family and community.
As the owner of a local gas station, Hardeep was more than just a businessman; he was a member of the community who built lasting relationships. His entrepreneurial spirit and relentless work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of many. Hardeep's contributions went beyond his business; he served as a reliable source of support and encouragement to those around him, including serving as the past president of Gurdwara Gur Nanak Darbar of Indianapolis, IN.
Hardeep leaves behind a loving family who will dearly miss him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Harjinder Kaur, and his cherished children: Harcharan (Manpreet) Singh, Jaspreet (Mandeep) Kaur, and Raveen (Pritpal) Kaur. The joy of his life was his six grandchildren, Harman Singh, Rajveer Singh, Tejas Singh, Reet Kaur, Nishan Singh, and Sarguan Kaur.
He is also remembered by his brothers, Amrik Singh and Gurmukh Singh, who will carry forward his legacy of values and integrity. Hardeep is preceded in death by his father, Udham Singh; mother, Puran Kaur; brother, Pitar Singh; and sister, Satpal Kaur, all of whom he held close in his heart.
A prayer service to honor Hardeep Singh Birdi will be held on October 12, 2024, at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Road. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, concluding at 1:00 PM, where family and friends will come together to celebrate his remarkable life and legacy. The services will be livestreamed.
