Harold S. Aron D.P.M.

Born May 11, 1928 to Frieda and Max Aron in New York City, passed away October 2nd at the age of 90.

He grew up in Detroit, MI where he attended Central High School and Highland Park Jr. College. Harold then attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio; graduating in 1952. He entered the Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed at Wm. Beaumont Army Hospital at Fort Bliss, Texas until his discharge in 1954 at which time he came to Indianapolis. He opened his office in April of 1955 and retired in July of 2001. Dr. Aron was active in local and state podiatric organizations, becoming president of the State Association in 1970 and was voted Podiatrist of the Year in 1983 and 1993.

Harold and his wife, Lorna (who passed away in Feb of 2007 after 53 years of marriage) volunteered for many years at the Convention Center, USO at the airport, Final 4, Pan Am Games, Children's Wish Fund and 500 Festival - just to name a few. After Lorna's death, Harold continued volunteering at the USO Ronald McDonald House at Riley Hospital and delivering Kosher Meals on Wheels for Congregation Beth-El Zedeck. He was a member of Broad Ripple Sertoma in its early years and attended Beth-El Zedeck for over 50 years.

He is survived by his son, Dan (Maureen) Aron; daughter, Susan (Michael) Denardo; beloved granddaughters, Alexa, Ashley and Anna Aron, and Valerie Denardo; and three great-granddaughters, Nevaeh, Sylas and Rori Culmo. Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Aron.

Funeral services will be held at A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services, 11411 N. Michigan Rd, on Friday, October 5th at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Congregation Beth-El Zedeck North Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House at Riley Hospital, Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, or Jewish Family Services.

Family and friends are invited to the Bent Tree Clubhouse, 416 Bent Tree Lane, following the committal service from 1:30 PM - 4 PM.
