Helen Marie McDonald,
born September 12, 1946 in Grand Island Nebraska, passed away on Monday October 17th, 2011. Marie was the daughter of Robert McLaughlin and Evelyn Vada McLaughlin.
Marie grew up as a military child which afforded her opportunities to live in many different states with her parents and brother, Robert, including Hawaii and California.
Marie married and had four children, Kelly (b.1968), Ellen (b.1969), John (b.1972), and Sean (b.1975). Marie loved her children and her career as a Registered Nurse at hospitals and assisted care facilities in upstate New York and in the Indianapolis area until poor health forced her retirement in 2006.
Marie, known to her grandchildren as Grammie, was a loving and caring grandmother to her nine grandchildren: Devin Reilly, Townsend, Jackson, Aidan, John William, Sean, Charlotte, Connor, and Eleanor. She is also survived by countless friends who loved, cherished, and cared about her throughout her life. She will be missed by all, but especially by her children, their spouses Jay, Amelia, Kelli, and those grandchildren who she touched with her kindness and fun loving spirit.
Visitation will be at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, 11411 N. Michigan Rd, on Friday October 21, 2011 from 10-12 pm. At 11:30, friends may share a memory or prayer with the family in a brief service.
