Ida Belle (Platt) Marer

Ida Belle Marer, Life long resident of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the age of 97.  Ida Belle was born in Indianapolis on December 8, 1925 to the late Jacob and Anna Platt. She was an active member of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, baking for holidays, working with the Sisterhood and a loyal member of the daily minyan.

For over 20 years she worked as a manager, training the social workers for Fountain View Place Nursing Home in Beech Grove.

Her family was the light of her life.  She is survived by her daughters, Fran Reed, Sharon Marer, and Helaine Marer; her beloved niece, Barbara Giniger and her sister, Lenora Giniger, niece, Marsha Berger, and great nephews, Brian, Jeremy and Michael as well as several great, great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Marer (2001), her baby Terri Sue, her brother-in-law, Sheldon Giniger and niece, Tina Lambert.

Graveside funeral services will be on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 2:00pm in Beth-El Zedeck North Cemetery.
