Inda Jane Larman Freid Singer
96 years of age and lifelong resident of Indianapolis, passed away on September 17, 2018.
Inda was born on July 17, 1922, in Indianapolis, to Pearl and Charles (Elkin) Larman. Inda was a graduate of Shortridge High School.
Inda was an active community volunteer and enjoyed lending her time to worthy causes. She was a member of The Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, a former vice president of The Temple Sisterhood, a member of Hadassah, a member of The National Council of Jewish Women, a past president of The Hooverwood Guild, and she volunteered at the Eiteljorg Museum and Indianapolis Museum of Art. Inda was also an avid golfer and was a 50+ year member of Broadmoor Country Club.
Inda was an astute businesswoman. She owned and operated Meridian Furniture for many years.
Inda was a woman of high standards who expected the best from all of those around her. In return, you would be the recipient of her fierce loyalty and special praise. Her grandchildren, Chad, Jeremy, and Amy, as well as her nephew, Phil Larman, were perhaps the biggest benefactors of such praise and devotion and she loved them intensely.
She will be deeply missed by her beloved family. She is survived by her son, Dr. Michael (Jody) Freid; grandchildren, Chad (Jennifer) Freid, Jeremy (Jenessa) Freid and Amy (Mitch) Freid Ratnow; and great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Grayson, Shayla, Beckett and Dunham Freid, and Shep, Brock and Devyn Ratnow. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Audrey, Joanie, and Jackie Larman, and special nieces and nephews.
Inda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack, Herb, Leonard and Stanley Larman; and sister, Kalah Reinschreiber; as well as husbands, Bert Freid and Milton Singer.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, September 21st at 1:30 pm at the Indianapolis Hebrew Cemetery North, 1300 West 161st Street, Westfield, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, the Hooverwood Guild, or the organization of the donor's choice.
