Irene Leventhal Weintraub,
85 years of age, life resident of Indianapolis, passed away on July 27, 2016 in Cincinnati, OH; where she had moved to be closer to her daughter. Irene was born in Indianapolis on May 20, 1931 to Michael and Esther Leventhal. She was a graduate of Shortridge High School and Indiana University.
Irene and her late husband, David, were long time members of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, and Irene served as president of Congregation's Sisterhood. She loved playing mahjong and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Alan) Solomon of Cincinnati; son, Jeffrey (Audrey Lyon) Weintraub of Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren, Stuart (Kate), Andrew Solomon and Lila, Hannah, and Naomi Weintraub; sister, Pearl Roth of Indianapolis; brother, William Leventhal of California; and many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her siblings, Sander, Jack and Ruben Leventhal. She will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2017, 11 AM, at A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services, 11411 North Michigan Road, Zionsville, IN 46077.
