Long time Indianapolis and Carmel resident passed away on October 28, 2022, at the age of 98.
Irving was born on January 2, 1924, to the late Samuel and Ethel Katz in Brooklyn, NY. He was a graduate of New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn and Adelphi University. Irving was a US Army veteran.
In 1964 Irving moved his family to Indianapolis to begin work with Melvin Simon & Associates, working for the company for over 40 years as Executive Vice President of Leasing.
Irving was a member of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck and a strong supporter of the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis. He enjoyed watching sports, was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan, enjoyed music and was a devoted grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Levasseur; son, Michael (Shelly) Katz and grandchildren, Sean Levasseur, Cece Katz, and Ethan Katz.
There will be a private family funeral.
