Jackie Shafer Leppert,
53, passed away on October 13, 2016 at her home in Indianapolis. Jackie was a Clinical Psychologist, specializing in helping patients with addictions. For over two decades, she worked at St. Vincent's Hospital, assisting those who benefitted from her compassionate care. A graduate of Michigan State University and Ball State University, Jackie was born in Muskegon, Michigan and attended Muskegon Catholic Central as well as Muskegon Community College.
Jackie was the proud mother of Patrick and Matthew Leppert, who now attend college. She is followed in life by her siblings, Gregory Shafer and his wife, Bernadette Gongora; Janet Shafer Boone and her husband, David; Cindy McCarthy and her husband, John Sinclair; and Mary Shafer Wahr and her husband, Jerry; and nieces and nephews, Michelle Engels; Heather, Christopher and Ryan Boone; and Aislinn and Brendan McCarthy-Sinclair.
Jackie will forever be remembered for her passion and uncompromising love. She loved her green and white Spartans, her wonderful children, and her extended family. She loved her adopted city of Indianapolis and evening in her backyard.
For those of us who had the pleasure of loving her, of visiting her cozy home and laughing with her on holidays and during Spartan Saturdays, we only lament that "those who love most ardently are missed that much longer." We love you, Jackie.
Services will be held at St. Michael's Church, 3354 West 30th Street, Indianapolis at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 21st with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jackie Leppert Trust for the boys' college tuition.
Arrangements entrusted to A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services. Friends may leave a memory or message of condolence by visiting the online obituary at www.arnmortuary.com.
