Jacob Isaac Cohen

October 25, 1921 — July 14, 2013

Jacob Isaac Cohen passed away on Sunday, July 14,2013. 'Cob', as he was affectionately known, was born on October 25, 1921 in Indianapolis. He was an eagle scout and a US Navy Air Force veteran of WWII. Jack flew torpedo bombers in the Pacific and was awarded several medals including the Navy flying cross. After the war he had a long sales career in the ladies apparel business. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Nahmias Cohen.

Jack is survived by three siblings, Ben (Edna) Pardo, Gladys Nisenbaum, and Max (Susan) Cohen; five children, Ellen, Gary (Annmarie Geary), Vicki (Marcel Desranleau), Alan " Lannie" (Kristen), and Margie Hesler (Scott); and his grandchildren, Toby, Mitchell, and Iszabel Cohen.

Funeral services will be at Etz Chaim synagogue, July 16 at 2:00 pm, 6939 Hoover Road, Indianapolis, IN 46260.

The family will be sitting shiva at Alan and Lannie Cohen's residence following the service on Tuesday, and from 6-9 PM on Wednesday and Thursday. Minion will be held at 8:45 PM on Tuesday and 6:30 PM on Wednesday and Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Etz Chaim Endowment Fund.
