JANE HALPERN ZUKERMAN
November 20, 1921 - November 11, 2013

Known for her style, elegance and class, Jane always lived life to the fullest. She began her lifelong career as a superstar saleswoman at Rogers Jewelers, where she worked alongside her future husband of 64 years, Gene Zukerman. Together, they built a wonderful life, filled with good times, great friends, family, and considerable mutual admiration and respect. The first months of their marriage brought the fun and adventure of living together while Gene was stationed at Travis Air Force Base in California. When the war ended, the happy couple returned home to Indianapolis. Jane and Gene were the proud owners of "Gene's Jewelry" on Illinois Street until 1964, and Jane's career later continued with Goodman Jewelers and Aronstam Fine Jewelers.

Jane's vivacity was contagious. She truly loved people, and made close friends quickly and easily wherever she went. She adored Asian art, had an eye for fashion, was an avid reader, and was always eager to try the most exotic foods. Jane's beauty, her passion for life, her zest for seeing new places and meeting new people - all burned bright until her very last days. She even co-piloted a flight to the Grand Canyon at age 88! Jane was a member of Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation and various social clubs.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; and sister, Adele Levie. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughters, Linda Trout (Paul) and Lesa Feeser (Bob); favorite granddaughter, Sabian Trout; favorite grandson, Craig Bracken; great-granddaughter, Sophena Trout; sisters, Barbara Davis and Chy Nach (Bill); sister-in-law, Natalie Zukerman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at the Congregation Beth-El Zedeck North Cemetery on Friday, November 15th at 1:30 PM. The family will be receiving friends following the service until 6 PM at The White River Yacht Club, 1400 E. 74th Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Humane Society.
