Passed away peacefully at Hoosier Village in Zionsville.

She was blessed with four amazing children and their wonderful spouses, ten incredible grandchildren and four beloved great-grandchildren. Kathi (daughter), Patrick and Sean Fox; Joann (daughter), Tom, Matthew and Sheryl, Alex, Conner Bennett, Marie and John Obradivich; David (Son), Sarah, Beth, Drake, Laurel, Farrah, Anderson, Jaret and Tanner Deprin; Mary (daughter), Eric, Lauren, Ben and Joseph Evenson.

Jan was a teacher for all of us and hundreds of other young people over her 40 years as an Educator and High School Counselor. She had a passion for traveling and had adventures all over the world - her favorite trips were the ones she had with her grandchildren. She was especially close with her sister's Barbara and Lois and was involved regularly with their families lives.

She was a strong and constant advocate for women's rights, as well as a mentor and an inspiration for many. She liked teaching history and civics and cared deeply about our democracy.

Her generosity and kind spirit will be missed by everyone who knew her.

There will be a small private celebration with the immediate family at a later date.
