Janice grew up on the Northside of Indianapolis on Illinois Street.  Janice was a graduate of Shortridge High School and briefly attended Indiana University before marrying.  She and her husband Isaac "Ike" Nisenbaum  raised  three children, Michael, Lisa and Mark  on Rainbow Lane in Indianapolis, where they always welcomed friends and family. Janice was a stay at home mom to her three children. When her youngest child started school, Janice worked as a kindergarten teacher’s aid at the Jewish Community Center. She worked at the JCCA for more than 2O years.Janice and Isaac attended Beth El Zedeck for many years before moving to The Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation. She and Isaac retired to Florida where they lived for more than 20 years. Following Isaac’s death, Janice moved back to Indianapolis.  Janice was a devoted mother and friend.  She loved learning and reading.  When her eyesight began to fail her, she switched to audio books.

Janice is survived by her children: Michael Nisenbaum, Lisa  (Richard) Kagan and Mark (Amy) Nisenbaum; her grandchildren: Alec, Max, Lauren, and her sister, Rosetta Salavon.  Funeral services will be held in Florida.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J.
