Jeff Lord
of Lebanon, IN, 62 years old, died Thursday May 31, 2018.
His parents were Charles Lord and Nancy (Joyce) Lord. He is survived by wife,Teresa; father; sister, Joyce; three brothers; and many, many in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his mother; sister, Debbie; and daughter, Shannon.
Jeff was born in Rhode Island, lived several years near Plattsburgh, NY before moving to Boone county in 1973. He and Teresa were married in 1974. He was a Superintendent with the Heavy Highway division of Milestone Contractors, before that he worked for Berns Construction.
When he was a younger man fishing and hunting were his passion. As he matured, Harleys became his joy. In these later years, collecting pocket knives and watching YouTube became his favorite pastime, though he failed to convince his wife that could be called educational TV.
Jeff could make you laugh til you cried with his quirky humor. He did not like sad or solemn events. He always hoped that he would be remembered with a story that begins " Do you remember that time...?" And he will not mind at all if that story is not appropriate for younger audiences. Jeff loved Teresa, their dogs, his friends, and his work. They will all miss him with his booming voice. The world today seems a bit too quiet without him in it.
There will be a Celebration of Life party at the Zionsville American Legion Post #79 on Sunday, June 10th, from 2 - 4 PM. All are welcome to attend.
Please do not send flowers, but stop by the nearest animal shelter and put a little cash on the counter. Tell them Jeff sent you.
