Jimmy E. Cross

Jimmy E. Cross, age 83, formally of Wabash, passed away on June 19, 2019 in his daughter’s home in Marion.

Jimmy was born in Pickett County, Tennessee on September 25, 1935 to the late Guy and Helen Cross.

Jimmy loved his family and friends. His joy came from working his farm on Highway 13 outside of Somerset, Indiana. Jimmy took pride in his animals and garden. He enjoyed sharing and visiting his neighbors with his garden’s bounty. He was a member of the GM Sympathy Club, Somerset Lions Club

He retired in 2006 after 48 years from the Marion General Motors plant in Machine Repair.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Bryce) Coryea of Marion; son, Jeff (Olivia) Cross of Dripping Springs, Texas; daughter, Deborah Cross of West Lafayette; brother, Chester Gail (Bonnie) of Muncie; grandchildren, Kristin Coryea of Marion, Bryce Coryea of Indianapolis, Emerson and Nicole Cross of Dripping Springs, Texas; and great-granddaughter, Laurel Ann Coryea-Harris.

He was preceded in death by parents, Guy and Helen Cross; sister, Evangeline Brown; and brother-in-law, James Brown of Albany, Kentucky.

The family will receive friends at the Woodlawn Methodist Church, 150 2nd St, Somerset, IN 46984 on Saturday June 29, 2019 from 2 – 4 PM, with a Celebration of Jimmy’s Life at 4 PM at the Church.
