Jo Cultice, 94, of Indianapolis, IN, (formerly of Peru, IN) passed away on February 22, 2025, after a weeklong illness.
She was born December 4, 1930, in Fulton County, IN, to Stanley and Pauline Bowen Henry. She graduated from Elston High School in Michigan City, IN, where she was an outstanding flute player in the band. She married Hal Cultice on October 25, 1952, and they were married 72 years before he preceded her in death on January 22, 2025, exactly one month before her passing.
Jo was a homemaker before becoming a bookkeeper for Zaremski Accounting Service and Busta Bakery in Peru. From 1965 to 2000, when she lived in Peru, she was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
Her lifelong interest was music. From childhood piano lessons to high school band to singing alto, she always found a choral group to join in every town she lived in, including Robin Run Village in Indianapolis, where she resided the last 24 years. At Robin Run she also became a proficient handbell and chimes player, and did some composing and arranging.
Jo is survived by her son, Robert Cultice of St. Joseph, MI; her granddaughter, Ann Cultice of Indianapolis; and her sister Judy Schreiner of West Lafayette. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Elaine Bright, in 2004.
At her request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
