Joan Dee Kahn

February 19, 1929 — March 23, 2018

89 passed away on March 23, 2018. Born in Chicago on February 19,1929 to Melvin and Jean Adams. She lived most of her life in Indianapolis. She attended Grinnell College. Joan will be remembered for her generosity and kindness. She was a member of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation; past president and life member of League of Women Voters; docent and member of the Indianapolis Museum of Art; past president and supporter of the Asian Art Society. Joan was also a long time member and supporter of the Indianapolis Children's Museum and Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Joan enjoyed bridge and travel.

Joan is survived by her sons Arthur Dee (Mary Lou Popolizio) of Rochester, NY and Michael Dee, M.D (Marsha) of Louisville, 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Melvin Adams, husbands Joseph Dee and David Kahn, and son Lawrence Dee.

Funeral Services will be held at the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation Chapel, 6501 N. Meridian Street, Indpls., IN, 46260, on May 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held at Marquette Manor on May 5 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
