JoAnn Coffin, aged 87, passed away on November 12, 2024, in Indianapolis, IN. Born on August 13, 1937, JoAnn built a life marked by compassion, humor, and dedication.
JoAnn graduated from St. Mary Academy and spent her career in roles that reflected her nurturing spirit, including positions at a telephone company, LS Ayres Sales, and as a cafeteria worker at George Washington High School. Her work ethic and amiable nature made her a beloved figure in each role.
A devout member of Assumption Catholic Church, JoAnn's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions. She was a loving mother to three daughters, Caroline King, Theresa Lee, and Brenda Coffin, who survive her and continue to honor her legacy. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Josef and Caroline Windisch Merz.
JoAnn's personality was a beacon of light; she was known for her good sense of humor and her deep love for animals, especially dogs and cats. Her home was often filled with laughter and the joyful chaos of pets.
A private Urn Dedication Committal Service will be held at Calvary Cemetery for family members. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in honor of JoAnn's love for animals.
