John Masten Crook, 76, of Indianapolis, passed away January 19, 2022. A lifelong Indianapolis resident, John was born to Raymond and Lavona Crook on October 10, 1945. He was a 1963 graduate of Pike High School. John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He then began his long career as a telephone technician for Indiana Bell (ATT), retiring after 38 years.
John was a life member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a proud member of the Murat Shrine and belonged to Carmel Masonic Lodge #421.
John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandra (Scott); his daughters, Leigh (Joe) Juliano and Kimberly (Greg) Adams; his five grandchildren, Joseph, Jessica, Anthony, Evan and Trace; his six great-grandchildren, Kylie, Remington, Carson, Ryland, Wynn, and Major; his sister, Jennifer (Richard) Buchanna, several nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held at Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Road, on Tuesday, January 25th from 4 – 8 PM. A funeral service will be held at the same location on the following day, Wednesday, January 26th at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Masten Cemetery in Coatesville, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital-Lexington or the American Cancer Society .
