John Purcell

John Richard Purcell 84, passed away December 28th, 2017. He was born in Paris, Illinois, on May 11th, 1933, to John Shelby and Florence Ellen Purcell. Preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Jim Purcell; and his wife of 62 years, Sylvia Gene Purcell.

He was a lifelong resident of the Indianapolis area living in Fairland and Carmel, Indiana until he and Sylvia moved to Punta Gorda, Florida in December of 1995, where they resided for 17 years. Since 2015 John and Sylvia resided at The Hearth of Tudor Gardens, in Zionsville, Indiana. He is survived by his 3 sons: Mike, Rich and Doug, their wives; Rosie, Toni and Debbie; 10 Great Grandsons: Matt and Kevin; Scott, Alex, Mitch, Nick and Duke; Jordan, Josh and Jake. 3 Great Grandsons: Sam, Ben and Wesley. 3 Great Granddaughters: Audrey, Josie and Scarlett.

John spent his life in the Corrugated Box Industry since 1957 and in 1974, started Capitol City Container Corp. John was a veteran of the US Air Force and a Mason.

The Family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 27th, 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00PM, with services immediately following at ARN Funeral & Cremation Services located at: 11411 N. Michigan Rd. Zionsville, IN 46077, just 5 mins. N. of I-465.
