John W. "Jack" Scanlon,
76 of Indianapolis passed away November 25, 2013. He was born in Champaign, IL on January 4, 1937 to John and Frances Scanlon. He was a graduate of Indiana University and attended the I.U. School of Law. Jack worked for the Indiana Department of Corrections for several years, retiring in January 2002 as a parole officer. He was a world traveler and animal lover. Among his many travels, he visited Cuba, South America, Australia, Africa, and Thailand. A very funny man, everybody loved Jack's sense of humor.
Jack is survived by his wife, Jackie; stepchildren, Robert (Amy) Perry and Julie Perry; grandchildren, Robert Michael and Kathryn Perry; and sister, Pat (Frank) Fisher.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on December 3rd from 5 " 8 PM at Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Humane Society.
