John Esco Sells,
103, of Fishers, IN, formerly of Byrdstown, TN, passed away July 25, 2017. He retired from Sears after many years as a mechanic, and was a farmer and truck driver. A Christian man, he was a good husband and loving father. He placed a great value on education and ensured that all his children graduated from college. He loved his family, friends, practical problem solving, cars, and suits with ties.
Born in Pickett County the ninth of fifteen children, he spent his early years there before moving to Indiana. He visited Byrdstown often and enjoyed being there for Decoration Day. The last few years he lived with his daughter, Jean, in Fishers IN. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN.
He is survived by his children, Anna Belle Coote of Kalispell, MT, James E (Wanda) Sells of Lonetree, CO, and Jean E Kosanovich, of Fishers IN; grandchildren, Anne (Kevin) Marslender, Stephen Rashevich, John T Sells, and Samuel (Amanda) Sells; ten great grandchildren; and his youngest brother, Millard (Christine) Sells.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Dora Belle Sells; and siblings, Barbara Sells, Cosby Sells, Arco Sells, Myrtie Sells, Sam Sells, Neva Reeder, Ina Garrett, Joe Sells, Delcie Sells, Henry Sells, Sophia Peed, Lizzie Buessing, and Doris Aycock; wife, Elizabeth Edwards Sells; wife, Mabel Tidrow Sells; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
