Justina "Didy" Hart Merz

Justina “Didy” Hart Merz, age 66, of Zionsville, IN, left this world and went to be with her Lord on February 10th, 2022 due to a heart problem. It was peaceful and she never suffered.

Justina was born on July 18th, 1955 in Clarksburg, WV. She was the daughter of Charles (Harriet) Hart and Allene Mills Hart, and granddaughter of Justina Carskadon Hart. She attended the International School of Fine Art and Fashion with a degree in interior design. On October 1st, 1983, she married the love of her life, Al Merz. Justina’s talents were many, and throughout her life she took on a variety of creative roles including interior designer, costume designer, and florist. She was a creator at heart who never stopped dreaming.

A devoted mother and wife, Justina was the foundation of her family. She excelled at motherhood, and always supported her children in their passions and difficulties.

She leaves behind her husband of 38 years, Al; three children, Dan (Nicole), Callie, and Allyse; two grandchildren, Ian and Evelyn; father, Charles (Harriet) Hart; and sisters, Carol, Anne (Michael), and Shari (Scott); and nephews, Trey (Shandi) and Chad.  Justina was predeceased by her mother, Nancy “Nin”; and her grandmother, Justina “Tini.”

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Save the Children or the American Diabetes Association , two of Justina's favorite charities.

The Merz family will receive Justina's friends on March 26th from 11 AM until noon in the social room at St. Johns UCC, 3713 Pricetown Road, Fleetwood, PA 19522.  A memorial service will follow at 12:15 PM.  Following the services, a luncheon will be held at Island Pizza, 3060 Limekiln Rd, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
