Karen is survived by her children Stephanie and Drew, her fiance Eddie Bloom, brother David (Nurit) Jacobs, sister Laurie (Daniel) Pecoraro and mother Susan Jacobs (David Kleiman). She is also survived by grandmother Dorothy Meyers, great aunt Carolyn Goldbach, aunt Leslie (James) Curlow and uncles Michael (Sally) Meyers, Steve (Bobbi) Jacobs and Mark (Madelyn deceased) Lillianfeld and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Jacobs and grandparents Morris and Marjorie Jacobs and William Meyers.
Karen's greatest joy was to simply be a mother and to share in the lives of her children. She was responsible for many projects in the community and at her children's schools. Karen took great joy in annually preparing and distributing 60 holiday baskets to children at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital which she did in recognition of the treatment provided to her son Drew.
A graduate of American University, Karen lived for several years in Washington, DC where she had the privilege of being on the staff of the U.S. Holocaust Museum at the time of its opening. She then returned to Indianapolis to work with her father in the family business.
Funeral services will be held on Monday December 12, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, 6501 N Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46260
Memorial contributions may be made in Karen's memory to the Richard F. Jacobs Fellowship at Indiana University Foundation, PO Box 500, Bloomington, IN 47402 or, Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation.
There will be a minyon, memorial service today, Monday, December 12, 2016 and Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 5 PM. both evenings the family requests that friends come from 5 PM.
