Katy Wren Jones-Williams unexpectedly left this world on Monday, February 22. Katy made her world debut on September 5, 1978. She was welcomed to the stage by her adoring parents, Jennifer and Jeremy Jones and her big sister, Erin.
Katy attended Zionsville high school where she discovered her love of music and theater. Graduating in 1997, she took that love to Columbia College in Chicago where she majored in theater directing. Following graduation she plied her trade with a small theater group she cofounded with her friends. More importantly she met the love of her life Raymond Williams. She and Ray were married on June 13, 2009 and moved back to Indianapolis. Katy’s greatest productions, Wren Louise and Matilda Dahl followed a few years later. From the day they were born Katy devoted herself to these two amazing girls. As a family Katy, Ray and the girls embraced camping, swimming, scouting, gardening and most recently chickens. Her garden was her sanctuary.
Katy was employed at Tulip Tree Creamery for 7 years. The people at the creamery became her work family and they loved her too. One of her duties was manning the Tulip Tree booth at many farmer’s markets, especially Broad Ripple. The staff, other vendors and the patrons became dear friends and she looked forward to seeing them each Saturday morning even in crappy weather.
Among the multitudes who will cherish her memory are her husband, Raymond Williams; precious daughters, Wren Louise and Matilda Dahl; mother, Jennifer Jones; father, Jeremy Jones; Sister-Best friend-partner in crime-confidante, Erin Elaine Edds; Erin’s husband, Stephen and their son Levi, who adored his aunt Katy; grandmother, Phyllis Jones; sister in law, Lisa Williams; brother in law, Julio Rodriguez; and Katy’s dearest friend since grade school, Liza Lerner-Papautsky.
