Klara Mazyar

Klara Mazyar, 88 years of age, of Carmel, died on June 28, 2023. She was born in Slavuta, Ukraine on February 6, 1935 to the late Joseph Gurvitzh and Gitl Vexlander.

Klara was smart, witty, had a deep passion for literature and music, and a great sense of humor. She loved playing cards and taught her grandkids many games. She took pleasure in spending time with her family and friends.

Klara was also an excellent teacher and persisted in her profession even after immigrating to the United States. She taught English to older immigrants until she reached the age of 81.

Her husband, Igor, preceded her in death in 2021. She is survived by her daughter, Natalia (Mark) Rekhter and grandchildren.

Funeral services were held privately.

Klara battled Alzheimer's for several years, and the horrible disease slowly robbed her of everything. Not many people remember her in her youth. In this picture, she is 30 years old, brimming with hopes and dreams for the future. May she always be remembered this way and may her memory be a blessing.
