L. David Butler

66, of Fishers, passed away September 24, 2018. He was born on January 24, 1952 in Chicago, IL to Willard and Irene Butler. Dave was a graduate of Purdue University as well as the University of Kentucky.

Dave worked in pharmacy research and retired from Eli Lilly. He also worked at Squibb, Ortho Pharmaceutical, R.W. Johnson, Schering-Plough, and Merck.

Dave loved music and playing guitars. He enjoyed golfing, skiing and cooking. He earned his black belt, spoke several languages, sketched beautifully and was a Mensa member.

He is survived by his mother, Irene Butler; sister, Gloria (Kenneth) Davis; brother, Greg Butler; niece, Dawn (Bryan) Reule; and nephew, Alex Davis. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews from the Tennyson family as well as special friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Willard Butler; his wife, Martha "Marti" Butler (Tennyson); and his sister, Deborah Everts.

Memorial contributions may be made to Purdue University, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

As Dave requested, no celebration of his life will be held.
