Lakhwinder “Harry/Bittu” Singh

46, of Carmel, passed away August 27, 2021.  A loving son, brother, husband, and father, he was born to Joginder Singh (father) and Jasbir Kaur (mother) on July 21, 1975.  He graduated from Tanda High School, and continued his education at Government College of Tanda.  He later moved to New York in 1998, in pursuit of the American Dream.  He then moved to Indiana in 2004 and established various businesses across the state through his hard work and dedication to his craft.

Lakhwinder was an active member of the Sikh Satsang of Indianapolis, where he was very involved and served as treasurer for 4 years.  He loved volunteering at the Gurdwara and helped strengthen the community through his selflessness and love for service.

He loved watching and playing cricket in his free time, never missing a championship to cheer on his favorite teams.  In addition to that, he enjoyed gardening, going on long walks, and most importantly, spending time with his family.

Lakhwinder always put the needs of others before his, especially his family’s.  Despite a busy schedule, he would always make time for those he loved, dropping everything to help those who needed him.

He often said his greatest joy in life was his family. Lakhwinder is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Kirandeep “Rajni” Kaur; their three children, Gurleen Kaur, Amritleen Kaur, and Gurajay Singh.

Lakhwinder will always be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.  His love for life and laughter outlives him through the lives he has changed with his unique point-of-view.  He was able to achieve the American Dream, leaving the fruits of his labor for his family to enjoy.

Lakhwinder Singh will never be forgotten.  May his soul rest in peace and power.

Funeral services will be held at A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services, 11411 N. Michigan Rd., on Saturday, September 4th from 11:30 AM – 1: 30 PM.  Friends are welcome to visit. Immediately following the funeral, the Bhog & Anand Sahib will take place at the Gurdwara Sikh Satsang of Indianapolis , 10950 Southeastern Avenue, from 2:30 – 4 PM.
