It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lien Sau Vong, 86, of Fishers, who passed away peacefully on April 7, 2023. She was born in Quang Ninh, Vietnam on December 26, 1936 to the late Phu Xin Vong and Tu Thi Li.
Lien moved to Hong Kong and shortly after moved to the United States of America. As a young adult, Lien broke barriers and overcame obstacles in pursuit of supporting for her four children as a single mother when she was 26. She was highly respected by her family for the care, help, and loving kindness she continually offered. Lien was a long time member of the An Lac Temple as she practiced her Buddhist faith along with family and friends. She genuinely had the biggest heart and wonderful smile. Throughout her life, Lien had passions for gardening, sewing, knitting, playing mahjong, and especially cooking; which she generously shared her love with others. She was a library of information and knowledge and filled with stories and memories of her life. Her family cherished hearing her stories and loved hearing them again and again.
Lien’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children, Bo Vien Dao, Thu Thi Thu, and Wah Vien Dao; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and siblings. Lien was predeceased by her parents, husband, sister, and son, Sang Vien Thu. She will also be remembered by other close relatives and family whose lives she touched.
In lieu of memorial flowers and donations, Lien wished for everyone to spend as much time as they can with their loved ones and embrace them as much as possible.
Services will be held at Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Road, April 14th, 2023 as follows:
• 11 AM - 2 PM: Visitation
