69 years of age, long time resident of Indianapolis, Carmel and Whitestown, passed away on October 13, 2016.
Linda was born on December 30, 1946 to Jim and Kathleen McIntyre. She was a 1964 graduate of Shortridge High School and a 1969 graduate of Purdue University.
Following graduation, she taught English at Speedway High School. After starting a family, Linda soon discovered her real passion in life, hand sewn quilts. From 1984 until 1994 she owned and operated Quilts Plus in Indianapolis, where she taught quilt making and sold quilt supplies. Later, Linda authored two books on quilt making and co-authored a third book. The books gave Linda the opportunity to travel to France, where she gave talks on the art and joy of quilt making.
Her other interests included watching birds and other animals in her backyard, and cultivating her flower and vegetable gardens. Linda enjoyed cooking, and she was talented at other forms of needlework and sewing. She was an active member of the American Legion's Women's Auxiliary Post 79. Linda especially loved going to her grandchildren's various events and activities, traveling with her husband to NASCAR races and long road trips across the U.S. with her Purdue friends. She will be deeply missed.
Linda is survived by her beloved family. Her husband, Richard J. Koenig; her children, Jason (Shawna) Koenig of Westfield, Bryn (Shawn) Inman of Zionsville, Nathaniel (Chrissy) Koenig of Zionsville; grandchildren, Rosie (14), Ozzy (10), CJ (9), Tate (8), Olivia (5), Mitchel (3); sister, Peg (Justin) Furman of Carmel and her beloved cat, Lucy.
