Lindsey Whalen,
32, passed away on September 18, 2014 in Indianapolis, Indiana after a lifetime struggle with liver disease. She was born in Northampton, Massachusetts on October 26, 1981 to Shirley Riga of Medfield, Massachusetts, and Kent Whalen of Naples, Florida. After going to college at LaSalle College in Newton, MA, Lindsey worked as a bookkeeper at the Stavros Center for Independent Living in Amherst, MA for 11 years. A resident of Massachusetts, Lindsey loved life and laughing, and she was generous in so many ways. The family is grateful to all the medical professionals who helped Lindsey during her life.
She is survived by her parents; sister, Marcy Mooney of Stoneham, Massachusetts; step-sisters, Christina Thomas of Naples, FL and Asha Strazzero-Wild of Shutesbury, MA; and grandmother, Jane Shawn of East Longmeadow, MA.
Memorial services will be held at the Genesis Center of Westfield, MA on October 4, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Memorial donations can be made directly to the American Liver Foundation, 88 Winchester Street, Newton, MA 02461.
