Lisa Kathalin McCave, 70, passed away from cancer on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at the Bridgewater Healthcare Center in Carmel, Indiana.
Lisa, the daughter of Herbert J. (deceased) and Doris A. McCave (née Wilson), was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, and lived in Indianapolis, IN for the past 10 years with Doris, who survives her. A 1969 graduate of Brandywine High School, Lisa attended Wesleyan College in Macon, GA., and later attained a business degree from Widener University in Wilmington. Her career included stints with the Produce Marketing Association, ICI Americas, and AstraZeneca.
Lisa’s interests in retirement included cooking, reading, and collecting vintage jewelry. She volunteered at Robin Run Village, the retirement community where she lived, sharing her flair for design by helping with a newsletter and resale shop for residents. She also enjoyed meeting new people and hearing their stories.
In addition to her mother, Lisa is survived by a son, Adam Wilson (Molly) of St. Paul, MN; two grandchildren, Declan and Fiona Wilson of St. Paul; two sisters, Marta McCave (Rich Faulkner) of Rock Hall, MD, and Nancy Dietmeyer (Gary) of Carmel, IN; and nephews, Andrew Faulkner (Ivy Epan) of Raleigh, NC, Christian Dietmeyer of Carmel, IN, and Tommy Dietmeyer of Lafayette, IN; and niece, Sally Irujo (Adam) of Lincoln, RI.
A memorial service will be held in November.
Lisa was a cat lover, and contributions in her memory may be made to IndyAdopts! , a nonprofit that works to reduce the euthanasia rates of cats and operates the Nine Lives Cat Cafe in Indianapolis .
