55, of Carmel, entered Heaven on January 14th surrounded by her loving family at home following a short illness.
A life-long Trekkie, Diane graduated from Terre Haute South in 1978 where she danced with the Bravettes, and competed as a hurdler on the track team. Diane graduated from Purdue University in 1981 with a BA in Industrial Management. She minored in and enjoyed civil engineering throughout her life, often going out of her way to cross a bridge so she could study its structure. Diane devoted her professional life to charitable endeavors with many organizations, most notably joining the Day Nursery Auxiliary program in 1989 and serving as president from 1999-2000. An accomplished musician, Diane sang and played piano and keyboards with her church praise band. She was also a member of Roundabout, a local band that performed regionally.
Diane loved travel and adventure, driving cross-country and visiting the Caribbean several times, always seeking out local attractions. Diane's love of cooking is legendary; she cooked with vegetables grown in her garden, entertained in her home, and took food to sick friends and neighbors. Music filled her house; and at times she would stop everything to dance in the living room when a favorite song came on. Diane's laughter was infectious, and she was master at turning a phrase.
Most important to Diane was her family, whom she leaves to cherish her memory; husband, David Moscrip; Children Jacqueline Hankins of Noblesville, Cassandra McDowell (Blain) of Grand Rapids, and Joseph Neff of Fort Wayne; stepchildren David Moscrip (Amy) of Lakeland, Richard Moscrip (Sarah) of Indianapolis, Rebekah Livings (Michial) of Danville, Elisha Moscrip (Hannah) of Greenwood, father Richard Fuson, Sisters Dixie (Larry) Swan and Dale (Terry) Hardin, step-sister Cheryl Bohn and step-brother Russell Morgan, and 17 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Aloma, step-mother Liz, sister Dee and two infant brothers.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 23rd at King of Glory Church, 2201 East 106th, Carmel, Indiana, with visitation from Noon-1:00 pm and memorial beginning at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the King of Glory Piano Fund or Day Nursery Auxiliary.
