Lois S. Tarshes,
82, of Indianapolis, passed away February 23, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospice, after a brief illness. She was born March 9, 1932 to William and Rose Sneider in Asbury Park, NJ. Lois was a homemaker and volunteer for several philanthropic causes. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, and dancing. She graduated from Indiana University.
She is survived by her husband, Seymour "Sy" Schwartz; son, David (Deborah Kerdeman) Tarshes of Seattle, WA; daughter, Debra (Steven) Catton of Indianapolis; grandchildren, William and Jamie Catton; stepchildren, Mark (Arlene) Schwartz of Dallas, TX, Steven (Sharon) Schwartz of St. Louis, MO, Helene (Mark) Rosen of Charlotte, NC, and Marla (Doug) Rubenstein of Indianapolis; and step-grandchildren, David, Lauren, Trevor, Jeremy, and Trey Schwartz, Adam, Kayla, and Jenna Rosen, and Julia and Ryan Rubenstein. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Leonore Sager; and brother, Robert Sneider.
A funeral service will be held at the Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Rd, on Thursday, February 26th at 11 AM.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, March 2nd at Marquette Manor's Foundation Hall, 8140 Township Line Road, from 7 - 9 PM. Light refreshments will be served.
