Life Reflections of Ludwig William Johnson, Jr.
Ludwig (Luddie and Junior) William Johnson, Jr., child of Ludwig William Johnson, Sr. and Genevieve Jones, made his heavenly transition on August 15, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by his children and grandchildren in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Luddie graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1954. Following graduation, Luddie went on to serve in the United States Air Force.
Ludwig united in marriage to Rosalind Faye Trabue in 1955. To this union, two children were born, Cheryl (1956) and Eric (1960). Ludwig and Rosalind shared 66 years of marriage.
Luddie was employed by Eli Lilly and Company, where he served as the Senior Computer Technician. He retired in 1993, after 31 years of service. After retiring, Luddie went on to serve in several volunteer capacities with organizations such as the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and Indiana Black Expo.
Junior’s passion was golfing and traveling. He loved sharing trips with family members and friends; with Cancun, Mexico being one of his favorite destinations.
Ludwig’s interaction with his family, especially his grandchildren, rendered him a total sense of fulfillment.
Junior was preceded in death by his father, Ludwig William Johnson, Sr.; mother, Genevieve Jones; two sisters and two brothers.
Ludwig leaves cherished memories for wife, Rosalind Johnson; daughter, Cheryl Hall (Carl); son, Eric Johnson; six grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Ranna; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Ludwig is safely home in Heaven as he joined the Lord with a grateful heart.
