Lynn Meadows Stucker

October 6, 1959 — November 16, 2019

Lynn Meadows Stucker passed away November 16, 2019 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN after a courageous five-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.  She was surrounded by her loving son, Griffin; her sister, Leslie; and her dearest friend, Amy Steffy.

Lynn was born October 6, 1959 in Indianapolis, IN to James R. Meadows and Nancy T. Meadows. She grew up in Indianapolis IN, graduating from North Central High School in 1977.  She obtained a degree in Biology from Indiana University in 1981 and obtained her BSN in Nursing from the IU School of Nursing in 1987.  She worked in cardiac recovery at St. Vincent Hospital, then at Methodist Hospital where she worked in Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center for fifteen years.  During this time she obtained a Master of Science in Nursing in 2006 and lastly worked as a Nurse Practitioner in primary and urgent care with Eskenazi Medical Group, working full-time at the time of her death.

Lynn embraced all aspects of life. She had many hobbies and loved doing various projects. She was an avid gardener and took great pride in the beauty of her yard and the interior design of her home.  Lynn had a great passion for travel and had visited 46 states and 18 European countries, even living and working as a nurse in Rome, Italy in 1990.  However, her greatest passion in life was being a mother to her son Griffin. She instilled in him the same passion she had for travel and new and exciting things. When Lynn had a plan, it always included her son. Even now after her passing, she is still with him and continues to guide him along through the plans she had made for him.

She always maintained her witty, sarcastic humor and had a way of telling a story like no other. Fiercely self-reliant, she was a force to be reckoned with especially as she fought Multiple Myeloma after her diagnosis in 2014. She fought the disease with everything she had and never gave up hope for a cure.

Despite how difficult her battle with cancer was, she found great trust and support in those dedicated to her care. The family would like to thank Dr. Rafat Abonour, his nurse Ellen Royner, and the entire team at the IU Health Simon Cancer Center as well her co-workers at Eskenazi Medical Group.  Lastly, her friend Amy Steffy also deserves recognition for her determination in providing unrelenting support, love and friendship to Lynn.

She is survived by her son, Griffin M. Stucker of Indianapolis IN; sisters, Leslie Meadows of Indianapolis IN, Allison Meadows of Benton Harbor MI, and Samantha Meadows of South Bend IN; brother, Bruce Meadows of Indianapolis IN; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Celebration of Life will be at A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services in Zionsville, IN on Monday, November 25th. Visitation will begin at 3pm, with the memorial service beginning at 4pm.
