Greenfield, Marilue Gentry Collier, 89, originally from Indianapolis, spending 42 years in South Carolina, recently moving to Greenfield to be near family: Having confessed Jesus as her Savior, Marilue peacefully entered into heaven on Monday, March 20th, at Hancock Memorial Hospital of Greenfield.
Graduating from Saint Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1954, Marilue was one of the early FNPs at Wishard Mental Health prior to her move to South Carolina in 1980. She finished her career as the Director of Quality at the Beaufort Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1999. Bingo, fishing and sewing often filled her spare time while enjoying the warmth of the South Carolina sun. She was born at the old Colman Hospital on IUPUI Campus in Indianapolis in 1933, married Ronald Hansen (D) in 1954 and later married David Collier (D) in 1976. She is survived by her children: Mike (Stacey) Hansen of Greenfield, Ron (Phyllis) Hansen of Peru, Pat (Sue) Hansen of Greenfield, Linda (John) Moor of Indianapolis, and Steve (Daphne) Hansen of Greenfield, along with 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
One of 10 children herself, Marilue’s siblings include: sisters Elaine Tuths (D), Evelyn Ritter, Emily Hedge (D), Martha Roush, Cathy Bais (D), Jennifer Mangold; brothers Dennis Gentry (D), Gerry Gentry (D), and Robert Gentry.
