Marta Jo Arthur

Marta Jo (Lambert) Arthur, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away January 24, 2018 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Marta was born on October 31, 1950 in Wabash, Indiana to Riley Eugene and Dora Ellen Lambert.

Marta grew up in North Manchester, IN and later moved to Kokomo, IN. Marta graduated from Purdue University and I.U.P.U.I. with a degree in Nursing and began her career working in the NICU at Methodist Hospital. Marta's caring spirit lead her to succeed in nursing, touching the lives of many patients from the tiniest of babies to adults nearing the end of their lives. She worked at Vencor Hospital for many years and finished up her career with CSC.

Marta was a fighter, surviving cancer three times. She never let anything stop her and always took on all challenges head on.

Marta was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Dora Lambert.

Marta is survived by her husband John Arthur, children, Dan Arthur, Tom (Sarah) Arthur, Jocelyn Arthur, Joe Arthur, and Rick (Rachel) Arthur, her sister, Andrea (Bill) Swingler , 11 grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

No public viewing or service will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
