Martha Jane (Alley) Coulter
died at Cumberland Trace Center Nursing Home, Plainfield, Indiana on December 6, 2018 at 83 years old. Martha was born March 26, 1935 in Curtisville, Tipton County, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late John and Dessie (Trimble) Alley. She married Richard Coulter in Tipton, Indiana June 14, 1952, and he survives.
She lived and worked at many places in Indiana; the last of these was Personnel Manager of K-Mart in Vincennes. She was a member of the First Christian Church, President of the Mothers Club of the Columbia School in Anderson Indiana, and a member of Tri Kappa Sorority.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Dessie Alley; brothers, James and Thomas Alley; sister, Jean Ann Day; and grandson Brian Coulter.
Survivors include husband, Richard Coulter of Plainfield; children, Jeffery (Ruth) Coulter of Greenwood, Richard D. (Connie) Coulter of Vincennes, Kem (Susan) Coulter of League City Texas, and Rhonda (William Schlosser) Coulter of Plainfield; 11 grandchildren, Matthew (Ali) Coulter and Laura (Phil) Crow, Camela Coulter and Danie (Dylan) Adams, Meghan (Erik) Nelson, Joel (Judith) Coulter, Andrew Coulter, Wendy Wagoner, Nicholas Wagoner, Rachel (Mike) Kerschner, and Christie (Zach) Clayton; and 17 great-grandchildren, A.J., Dean, and Elise Coulter, Ian, Brynn Coulter, Austin Camden and Myla Crow, Taylor Fuller, Ethan and Sawyer Wagoner, Isabella, Adelynn, and Jonathan Kerschner, Lilianna Coulter, and Malia Clayton and Annabelle Adams.
Martha's final act of service to others is the participation in further dementia research with the Indiana Alzheimer Disease Center, Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on December 15th with visitation from 2-5 PM and service starting at 5 PM at the Cumberland Trace Center Nursing Home in Plainfield, Indiana. Guests should enter door 3E at the main entrance on the east side of the facility.
